A novel solution of deep learning for endoscopic ultrasound image segmentation: enhanced computer aided diagnosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumor

Abstract Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is one of the critical tumors that doctors do not suggest to get frequent endoscopy, so there a need for diagnosis system which can process ultrasound images and figure out tumor. Many gastrointestinal methods were developed, but all these used manual contour rather than automatic segmentation. The research adopts enhanced segmentation improve with deep convolutional neural networks. This solution’s proposed an automated methodology using multi-scale Gaussian kernel fuzzy clustering vector field convolution, segments image automatically into region interest (the infected area). Convolutional Neural Network Class Activation Mapping done diagnose Four datasets, namely (USS1, SH Hospital, SNUH, BUSI). helps clearer image, accuracy has increased from 84.275% 88.4%, processing time reduced 28.525% 24.575%. solution Automatic Segmentation helped resulted in decreased performance compared state-of-the-art. overcomes dependency on expert drawing Region Interest (ROI).
